Venture to the Vineyards

As the saying goes, the early bird catches the worm. But when it comes to Portugal, the worm is the sun rising over a sea of vineyards, and well, it doesn’t get much better than that.  So rise early to meet your driver and specialist guide that awaits you at your accommodation to whisk you off on your day’s adventures.

Mesmerised by the never-ending vineyards of this prestigious wine region, you’ll arrive at your first location of the day.  Set on the banks of the Douro River within sight of the quaint town of Pinhão, you’ll join an acclaimed viticulturist for a private tour of the estate’s vineyards.  Learn the ins and outs of what makes this region so unique – from the climate and slope direction, right down to the soil composition.  Next up, you’ll be led to a private setup for your first guided wine tasting experience complete with top table wines and a very special 40-year old Tawny port.
