Overview
[Full Day Private Tour] The Swartland has been a farming region for well over three hundred years now but it’s only in the last decade or so that the regions wines have become massively popular with adventurous wine geeks, sommeliers and other like-minded winemakers and wine enthusiasts. There is a big focus on heritage and traditional South African hospitality among the community here. On this full day winelands tour, you’ll spend the day meeting the winemakers and characters that make this region so popular only an hour way from Cape Town.
Pickup 8:30am ~ 5:30pm drop-off
- You will start your morning at the only MCC (local sparkling wine) producer in the Swartland with a tasting and vineyard walk with owner and winemaker Christa von la Chevallerie at the rustic Huis Van Chevallerie
- Your next experience is a guided wine tasting and cellar tour at one of the neighbouring producers in the region
- Afterward your tasting you’ll make your way to Lammershoek for another wine tasting followed by a barbecue lunch and be treated to true South African hospitality (this is included in the cost).
- Finish your winelands day by stopping in at the quirky Wine Kollective, a boutique wine store in the heart of Riebeek Kasteel, for a unique wine tasting and shopping experience.
