Mandela – Long Walk to Freedom
The 1994 life story by Nelson Mandela, a South African anti-apartheid radical and politician. It is a story of Nelson Mandela’s existence from his younger years in a rural community as he grows up, his education and the 27 years he spent in prison before becoming President and working to restore the country’s once split culture.
Invictus
This story is based on the events in South Africa before and during the 1995 Rugby World Cup, which was hosted here following the dismantling of apartheid. It illustrates how rugby helped Mandela create peace amongst South Africans.
Searching for Sugar Man
An incredibly interesting true story about a singer who was popular in South Africa. He moved the United States where no one knew who he was. This film illustrates how little SA was aware of the rest of the world.
