1. Bean There Coffee Company 

Bean There Coffee Company happens to be South Africa’s very first Certified Fairtrade coffee roaster. Specialising in single-origin coffee means that the coffee is grown from one region and not mixed or blended with varietals from other areas. Stores can be found in both Cape Town and Johannesburg.

2. Motherland Coffee

Motherland Coffee Company takes great pride in reclaiming Africa’s coffee heritage. The coffee company aims to uplift the regions from where their produce originates. It is also a fair trade practice helping to uplift and support these communities. From the farm to the cup, Motherland Coffee is a great spot to enjoy the roasts you love around meaningful conversations.

3. Cramers Coffee

If you’re in need of some good quality coffee on the go, then Cramers Coffee in Marshalltown is the perfect spot for you. Cramers specialises in serving premium-quality espresso-based coffee drinks, light meals and confectionaries.

4. Father Coffee

Undoubtedly one of our favourite top coffee spots in Johannesburg, Father Coffee serves a great cuppa in a trendy space.  Wood-panelled walls, beauitful plants and a lovely outdoor area for warm sunny days, enjoy a cup of their secret signature blend or grab one to go.

5. AfricaBlack Roastery & Espresso Bar

7. Craft Coffee

Craft coffee has been around for the last 50 years and is an artisanal focused coffee roasting business. Craft prides itself in their impressive selection of premium blended coffees to choose from. The coffee beans are locally and internationally sourced, uplifting farmers worldwide.

8. State 5

If you’re a fan of iced coffee, frozen espressos and cold brew lattes, then State 5 is the ideal coffee shop for you. State 5 has an extensive menu of cold brews and their pancake latte is a popular choice amongst locals.

9. The Foyer Coffee Shop & Home Bake

This charming little coffee shop is one of the first things you’ll see when you enter the Old Lake Market across from the Parkview Library. If you’re looking to beat the morning rush, it is the perfect place to get your coffee on the go and a light breakfast or croissant.

10. Naked Kitchen and Coffee Bar

Naked Kitchen and Coffee Bar has an extensive range of gourmet coffees on offer with the added bonus that it’s vegan. It can get a little noisy in the mornings, but if you’re interested in just getting gourmet coffee on the go, it’s a great option on our list of top coffee spots in Johannesburg.
